Day 1 – Banff to Kamloops
You’ll arrive bright and early at the station in Banff, in time to watch your train slowly pull in! Onboard, you’ll settle into your seat from which you’ll be served regionally inspired gourmet breakfast and lunch.
En route, you’ll be treated to panoramic views and the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide including the mightily impressive Spiral Tunnels, as well as a chance to spot wildlife as you pass through the Glacier and Revelstoke National Park. By the evening, you’ll arrive in Kamloops where your transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Your time here is your own and you’ll find plenty of great spots to eat along Victoria Street.
Day 2 – Kamloops to Vancouver
The next morning, you’ll depart Kamloops and follow the meandering Fraser River towards Vancouver. You’ll be served breakfast on board. Today, the landscape changes dramatically and you’ll soon discover winding river canyons and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate, as well as the cool blue lakes and rugged peaks of the Cascade Mountains.
Everywhere you look you’ll find steep gorges, flowing rapids, and dense forests. After another regionally-inspired lunch on board, you’ll arrive into Vancouver by the evening and from here, it’s time to say goodbye to the Rocky Mountaineer and begin the next part of your Canadian adventure!
