Your day-by-day itinerary
Arrival in Foz Do Iguacu
Once you have landed at Iguacu’s tiny airport, you’ll see your driver waiting for you in the arrival’s hall. He’ll take you straight to your modern resort hotel near the airport and park entrance. The resort offers a lovely pool, restaurant, bar and comfortable rooms. Today is free for you to relax and do whatever you wish.
Excursion to Brazilian and Argentinian side of the falls
This morning you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Iguacu National Park. The Brazilians are known for saying: ‘Argentina may have the falls, but we have the view!’. Along the path you’ll find platforms that extend out across the river, taking you closer to the falls. If the wind is blowing in the right direction, you can get quite wet but your reward is a rainbow shining in the spray!
In the afternoon you will go to the Argentine side of the falls, crossing the border on the way. Once inside, you’ll take a train or walk around the many paths spotting capuchin monkeys and coatis along the way. Next you’ll take the train further to the Devil’s Throat, where you will stand on the top of the raging waterfalls gushing below, an unforgettable sight. Afterwards you will return to your hotel on the Brazilian side.
Departure from Foz do Iguacu
After breakfast on day 3 this trip will come to an end and you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport to catch your onward flight. Depending on the time of your flight you could visit the Parque des Aves. This bird park offers a large walk-through bird enclosure filled with flyng Ara Macaw Parrots and toucans and is a great way to see these birds up close.
Extension - 4 days / 3 nights
Boat Trip to the Thundering Falls
Spend an extra night in Foz do Iguazu, and get even closer to the magnificent falls. On this version of the trip you’ll still see both the Brazilian and Argentine sides of Iguazu, but you’ll also take an unforgettable jet boat safari up the river to experience the power of the falls from below. It’s an overwhelming combination of sight and sound, and we recommend packing a poncho to keep yourself at least a little bit dry.
