Experience mountain village life in the Annapurna region with a stay at the Narchyang Community Homestay, around five hours from Pokhara. Set well away from the usual trekking routes, this welcoming homestay connects travellers with local families while supporting the community through sustainable tourism. You’ll sleep in a family home, enjoy homecooked meals, and explore the surrounding Himalayan landscapes on hikes with a local guide.

Day 1 – Arrival into Narchyang & guided scenic walk

You’ll leave Pokhara behind with a private transfer to Tatopani, a scenic drive of around five hours through green hills, river valleys and small mountain villages. From here, a gentle 40-minute walk brings you to Narchyang, a peaceful village set at around 1,300 m along the trail to Annapurna North Base Camp. Surrounded by fertile fields, grazing livestock and forested hillsides, life here follows the rhythms of the land.

You’ll stay two nights at the Narchyang Community Homestay, where local families welcome travellers into their homes – a sustainable initiative that brings income to the village while sharing everyday Nepali life. After settling in, head out with your guide on a relaxed 2.5-hour walk to a nearby waterfall. Back in the village, enjoy a home-cooked meal prepared with local produce and your first evening in this welcoming mountain community.

Day 2 – Scenic guided hike

Today you’ll head out with your guide on a longer walk of around five hours to Lek Gau. The trail winds through forest, across small streams and past traditional farmland, giving you a close look at everyday life in the hills. Once you arrive, reward your efforts with a relaxing dip in the natural hot springs – the perfect way to ease tired legs. Later in the afternoon you’ll return to your homestay for a second night, where another home-cooked meal and warm local hospitality await.

    Meaningful Travel

This homestay programme is part of a Nepali Community Homestay project in which local women open up their homes to visitors. This innovative social enterprise supports a network of community homestays throughout Nepal. Not only does this allow tourists to learn more about the Nepali people and gain a better understanding of the local customs, but also provides these women with a much needed source of income. All the Home Stays are run by the local women; an initiative to empower all the women of the community.

Day 3 – Departure from Narchyang

This morning you bid farewell to your hosts as you enjoy a final breakfast before returning to Pokhara. Leaving with not only fantastic memories, but a sense of the impact you have had by supporting such a fantastic cause and heart-warming organisation.
