Like the rest of the east coast, most resorts on Pulau Redang are closed from mid-October to February due to the monsoon season. The sea turtles start coming ashore around June.

Day 1 – Arrival in Pulau Redang
Your journey to the island paradise of Pulau Redang starts with a boat ride of around 45 minutes from Merang. Once on the island, you will be transferred the short distance to your beachfront resort: a well-established hotel located directly on the white sands of Redang’s main beach. Settle in, then relax by the pool or take a dip in the warm waters just steps away from your room.
Pulau Redang is part of a group of islands designated as a protected marine park, which means there are strict rules around the marine life, fishing and ecosystems. The island is a nesting site for endangered green and hawksbill turtles, both of which are highly protected. Hatchlings are monitored at various turtle sanctuaries, some of which can be visited by the public. The best time to visit the sanctuaries on Pulau Redang is during the months of June and July, when most turtles lay their eggs on the beach.

Days 2 – 3 – Free time on Pulau Redang
Your time is free for you to spend as you wish. Redang is home to some of Malaysia’s most vibrant coral reefs and marine life, and thanks to its protected status, every effort is being made to keep this underwater world thriving. We recommend arranging a snorkelling tour – your hotel can book this. If you’d rather stay above the water, there are a couple of gentle walking trails in the jungle interior.
Day 4 – Departure from Pulau Redang
Today, you’ll say goodbye to your island paradise and return to the pier in Merang to continue your journey. If you’d like to extend your stay in Pulau Redang, we can arrange this for you.
