    Langkawi is a tropical paradise worthy of any postcard. With calm, turquoise waters, swaying coconut palms and soft white sands, it’s somewhere to kick off your flip flops and melt into a sun lounger. It’s by far the most popular beach destination in Malaysia but you can still find quiet stretches of sand and if you venture beyond the beaches, you’ll find character and culture.

    Days 1-3 – Arrival in Langkawi & free time

    It’s time to head to the island of Langkawi with its long beaches and warm, shallow water. It’s one of Malaysia’s most popular islands and is quite well developed, with plenty of places to eat and stay. But you can still find quiet stretches of sand.

    During this beach break, you’ll stay on one of the island’s most popular stretches of sand. For this accommodation option we have chosen one of the larger properties that has excellent facilities and good sized rooms. Time to relax!

    If you manage to drag yourself away from the pool and the beach, Langkawi offers a variety of activities, including waterfall tours, sunset cruises and snorkelling trips. Take the cable car up to the top of Gunung Machincang for a panoramic view of Malaysia and Southern Thailand, paddle a kayak through the island’s mangrove forest or hire a bike to explore the traditional Kampungs behind the beaches.

    Day 4 – Departure from Langkawi

    After your final night you’ll be picked up and transferred to the airport or the pier to continue your journey. It is possible to visit Langkawi all year round, but if you are hankering for good weather then avoid April to October, when the monsoon passes through. By Asian standards, it’s a light monsoon, but it could dampen your spirits if you’re looking for blue skies.
