Days 1-3 – Malacca: Warm welcome on wheels
Malacca is the melting pot of Malaysia, a mosaic of many different cultures. Here, crumbling European colonial buildings, Indian bazaars, Chinese markets and modern chic all sit side by side. This is the first stop of your family holiday, and you’ll stay in the heart of Malacca’s Chinatown, peppered with paper lanterns.
During your stay we will organise an eco cycling trip for you. You’ll pedal past tropical fruit plantations and through local villages. It’s a glimpse into rural Malaysia where simple lifestyles thrive.
The bike tour is suitable for children of all ages. Child bikes and seats for smaller children are available
Days 3-5 – Kuala Lumpur: Twin Towers & chopsticks
Today you will be transferred to Kuala Lumpur – the capital of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is a city of exciting extremes, where space-age skyscrapers nudge up against cluttered Chinese markets and timeless Indian restaurants. We’ve chosen a family friendly hotel with a swimming pool, that’s perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of sightseeing.
During your time here we’ll arrange some tickets to the KL Tower which provides sweeping views over the rooftops of the city. The panorama is impressive at any time of day, but it’s definitely best just before sunset. It’s a chance to see the Petronas Towers decked out with bright lights. Looking out across the skyline, it’s almost impossible not to feel inspired. The rest of your time in Kuala Lumpur is free for you to explore independently. Throw yourself into lively food-court culture which is sure to offer cuisine that the whole family will enjoy!

Days 5-7 – Taman Negara: Canopy walk & jungle boat
You’ll need to make your own way to the bus station today where you’ll board the bus to Kuala Tembeling, which takes roughly 3 to 4 hours. From here you’ll take a boat ride over to Taman Negara, roughly 2 hours. Here there are lots of adventure-packed activities to keep the kids entertained. You’ll walk through the treetops, take a boat trip past jungle-flanked riverbanks, and try a wildlife-spotting night safari during this relaxed adventure through Malaysia’s most famous national park. You’ll explore the rainforest from above, following a suspended walkway and looking for wildlife between the branches. By night, you’ll stay in a wooden bungalow in the jungle.
This package is suitable for children of all ages; however, the canopy walk is best suited for children aged 7 and above.
Days 7-9 – Cameron Highlands: Time for tea
After breakfast it’s time to bid farewell to the jungle and follow winding roads to the lofty Cameron Highlands. The climate here is pleasantly cool, which explains why several British settlers made this area their home. The Cameron Highlands are famous for their many tea plantations (and also for growing strawberries!) and today you’ll learn how tea makes its journey from bush to cup. Together with our experienced English-speaking guide and a small group of fellow travellers, you’ll explore the area. You’ll be picked up in the morning and taken to several viewpoints overlooking the vast tea fields. Afterwards, you’ll head into the Mossy Forest in search of unique plants and flowers. The morning ends with a visit to a tea estate, including a short tour. On Mondays, when the tea factory is closed, you’ll visit a strawberry farm instead. The afternoon is free for you to spend as you like.
This excursion is suitable for children of all ages

Days 10-15 – Perhentian island escape
Today you’ll take a private transfer from the hills to the coast. It’s a 5 hour journey to Kuala Besut – which is the gateway to the Perhentian Islands. It’s quite a long day so we’ve included an overnight stay here at a comfortable hotel with a swimming pool.
The following morning you’ll take a boat transfer from Kuala Besut to the tropical Perhentian Islands. The first thing you’ll see when you hop off the boat from Kuala Besut onto the island’s warm white sands, is an idyllic palm-lined beach, a crystal clear turquoise sea and small wooden cabins. This is a family-friendly island, and is the perfect place to end your Malaysia family adventure!
It’s easy to see why these popular idyllic islands attract plenty of visitors during high season. Advance booking is essential
Finding Nemo
Are your kids keen swimmers? Do they have snorkelling experience? During your stay on the Perhentians we can arrange a snorkelling excursion so you can explore the colourful underwater world of the island. It’s best suited for children aged 7 years+, but if your child is a good swimmer and can use a snorkel they are welcome to join. Ask your Travel Specialist to include this in your travel plan

Day 15 – Depart Malaysia
Today marks the last day of your Malaysia trip. We’ll arrange your boat transfer back to the mainland and a private transfer to take you to the airport, roughly an hour’s journey. You’ll catch a flight back to Kuala Lumpur in time to connect onto your international flight home.
