Day 1 – Arrive in pristine Pu Luong

Today you will arrive in Pu Luong. As the journey unfolds, the scenery shifts to quiet valleys and small villages where farmers work in the rice fields and children play outside their homes. On arrival, you’ll stay in a traditional stilt house with simple dormitory style homestay accommodation. Mattresses, sheets and blankets are provided and bathroom facilities are shared. In the afternoon, take a gentle walk through the countryside along paths that wind between rice paddies to a nearby waterfall. The sound of flowing water guides you to a series of cascades where you can relax, explore or enjoy a swim. In the evening, sit down with your host family to share a home cooked Vietnamese meal and experience a glimpse of everyday life in Pu Luong.

Day 2 – Exploring the local area

Start the day with a simple breakfast while taking in views over the quiet valley, then set off on a gentle two hour walk downhill through peaceful surroundings. The path leads you through rice fields and small hamlets where you may pass locals going about their daily routines. By midday, you’ll arrive at a local home where a freshly prepared lunch awaits, cooked by the residents using local ingredients. In the afternoon, there is time to unwind by the water, whether that means drifting along on a bamboo raft or enjoying a refreshing swim in the clear stream nearby. Later, walk back towards the village and spend some time alongside local families, helping with light tasks on the land and gaining a glimpse into everyday life here. As the day draws to a close, return to your homestay for a shared evening meal, with the peaceful mountain views creating a memorable and relaxing end to the day.

Day 3 – departure form Pu Luong

Start your morning with a cup of coffee and breakfast at the homestay before stepping into the traditional world of weaving. Local women will guide you through their craft and share how they create their work by hand. You will also have the chance to try some of the daily techniques yourself. If you prefer something more active, you can head out to help locals with work on the land instead. After a relaxed lunch, the minibus will collect you and you will continue your journey onwards.
