Arrival in Bagan
Today you’ll arrive in Nyaung U and be met by your driver, who’ll transfer you to your hotel in New Bagan. You’ll stay in a centrally located boutique property with lush gardens and an inviting pool. During your time here you’ll have mountain bikes or E-bikes and a map at your disposal to explore the temple ruins of Bagan. We recommend heading over to see Ananda Pahto one of the finest and best preserved temples in Myanmar. It towers over the city at an impressive 170ft high and is host to spectacular paintings, gold leaf Buddhas and a small museum.
Cycling with guide, free time & departure
This morning an English-speaking guide will take you to the lesser known temples and fill you in on their majestic history. Once you’ve got your bearings it’s time to head off on your own through the vast networks of dirt roads and trails! You can opt for an E-bike (like an electric scooter) over a push bike if you prefer to whizz past the local pagodas with ease. After all that cycling you might want to cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool. The following day you’ll head off to your next destination.
Bagan – Hot Air Ballooning
If you fancy getting a different perspective of Bagan’s lush green landscape dotted with temples then this hot air balloon flight is the perfect addition. Before sunrise you will be collected from your hotel for a spectacular flight over the glistening temples of Bagan, taking in the sweeping views of this iconic region. After landing you will be greeted back to terra firma with a glass of champagne to really mark the occasion before being transferred back to your hotel.

Jeep Safari through the Dry Zone
Templed out? For something truly different, head well off the beaten track on this fascinating jeep safari through the dry zone. It’s an early start as you travel by 4×4 out of Bagan and as the sun rises behind you, you’ll pass local women along the way carrying firewood for the market. You’ll visit several local workshops and interact with the local farmers. This is a fantastic and inspiring day out for avid photographers and those fascinated in the daily life of local people as you explore an area of Bagan rarely visited.Prices from:

Bagan – Village Life at Mount Popa
If you have a little longer in the Bagan region, Mount Popa – the birthplace of the 37 protective spirit “nats” of Myanmar – is one of the must-visits. You will be steered away from the normal trodden paths and along the way visit Minnanthu temple, witness rural village life in Shwe See Htein village, and the markets and fruit and flower plantations near Popa. For lunch you will enjoy a home-cooked meal with a local family and you’ll have plenty of time to explore and take in the magnificent views before returning back to Bagan in time to catch another beautiful sunset!
