Southern Thailand family trips

Create your own ideal holiday

Shimmering blue sea and powdery white sand is often the first thought that springs to mind when someone mentions Southern Thailand, and they wouldn’t be wrong. Each island has its own distinct personality, while beyond the beaches lie dense jungles teeming with wildlife and villages dotted through the countryside. Pick from our bite-sized trips below and we will create a tailor-made family holiday just for you.

Not sure where to start? No problem, take a look at our full itineraries or just get in touch and we’ll talk you through the options.

    Thailand landscape

Visit the Wildlife Friends Foundation to understand how they rehabilitate injured animals, explore the limestone peaks, castaway beaches and treasure trove of magical caves at Khao Sam Roi National Park, spot wild elephants and water buffaloes in Kui Buri National Park and relax on the golden sands of Hua Hin.

      Family in Khao Sok

Our Khao Sok adventure will take you deep into wildest Thailand, where you’ll explore enchanting rainforests and swim in sparkling natural lakes. We’ll arrange for you to stay in a truly unique place; the Anurak Community Lodge in Khao Sok National Park, where the staff and guides are from the local community.

        Thailand Island boats

Ko Yao Yai lies in an inland sea south of Thailand, surrounded by uninhabited rocky islands that thrust up from the water, full of secluded coves and tiny, hidden bays.  You’ll spend three nights in a family-run beach bungalow on a white powdery palm-lined beach. We’ll arrange for you to take a day trip by traditional longtail boat to hidden lagoons, abandoned beaches and superb snorkelling spots.

          Thailand Ao Nang beach

With huge limestone cliffs rising steeply from a turquoise sea, tropical beaches, green mangroves and colourful long-tail boats, Ao Nang is a brilliant escape for families looking for a beach stay with an active side.

Thailand swimming with turtles Ko Tao

Ko Tao has all the ingredients of a family getaway: sandy beaches, gentle waters and exotic marine life. It is far more laid back here than its neighbours, Ko Phangan and Ko Samui, and is a great place to put your feet up in a hammock with a good book whilst the kids splash about in the calm sea.

Thailand tourist family on the beach

Ko Phangan offers you and your family a laid-back beach escape. During your stay we’ll arrange for you to discover Ko Phangan’s hidden gems, explore the islands pristine underwater world, enjoy lunch on the beach and shower under the waterfall.

                Ko Samui tourist jumping photo

Ko Samui is the perfect island escape for families looking for a bit of everything, with beautiful, safe beaches and seas perfect for swimming, sandcastle building and snorkelling. For older children they can do kayaking, quad biking and surfing. In the evening you can dine at one of the many restaurants on the beach, or do some souvenir shopping at the night markets.

                  Ko Lanta Thailand Beach

Situated right in the middle of a marine national park, Ko Lanta certainly has plenty to offer with its long, white sandy beaches that slope into the calm turquoise sea and jungle interior. You’ll stay in a comfortable resort with family rooms and a swimming pool, nestled right on the beach and a short transfer to the island’s natural rainforest.

                    Elephant Hills

Head to the Elephant Hills Camp for a real family adventure. On this trip, you will spend time with the resident Asian elephants, relax during a jungle river canoe trip down the Sok River, explore Cheow Lan Lake by local long-tail boat and sleep in a safari tent.

Thailand Koh Kye Island camping tents1

It’s time for a great escape. Leave the world behind and go back to basics, just for a night. Live the Crusoe life on a tiny uninhabited island: sleep in a tent, catch your own dinner and sit by the bonfire under the starry skies. All while being a short boat ride away from the whirlwind of the real world!

Child on swing Ko Phi Phi beach

Explore the breathtaking natural beauty of Ko Phi Phi, made famous by the film ‘The Beach’, but for good reason. You will experience incredible views of towering limestone cliffs, powdery white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters with plenty of family activities to keep everyone entertained.
