Day 1 – Arrival in Kenya

After landing in Nairobi, you will be met by our driver in the arrivals hall. Just outside the hectic city center, we have found a small and quiet hotel where you will be welcomed with a big smile by the friendly staff. The rooms are simply furnished and equipped with private bathrooms. There is a cozy bar and restaurant open throughout the day. The first evening is best spent enjoying the African sunset on the veranda. Your two-week Kenya tour can begin.

Day 2 – The first safari in Kenya at Lake Nakuru

Your English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel the next morning. You will travel individually in a Toyota minivan. The roof is foldable so you can look around during the safari. Once you leave the city, your safari in Kenya begins, and the road takes you through a completely different, breathtaking world. After a four-hour drive, you will reach Lake Nakuru National Park and your accommodation in Nakuru. After lunch, you will drive to the gate of Lake Nakuru National Park. Here you have the opportunity to spot the rare white rhino and with a bit of luck lions. From a vantage point, you will have a sweeping view of the lake and time for countless snapshots. You will spend the night in your own luxury safari tent.

Day 3 – Hiking to Lake Naivasha

Today you’ll travel along the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, a vast freshwater lake surrounded by rugged cliffs and dense forests. After lunch, you’ll explore the area around Crater Lake, where you’ll spend the night beside a smaller volcanic lake. During a walking safari with your guide, you’ll walk among zebras, monkeys, goats, and birds, and also have the chance to spot giraffes and buffalo. As the sun slowly sets on the horizon, you’ll reach the highest point of the crater, which contains the freshwater lake. Here, a light snack awaits you while you enjoy the beautiful sunset. You’ll spend the night in our atmospheric tented camp on the edge of Crater Lake.

Day 4 – Game drive in Hell’s Gate National Park

After breakfast, you’ll travel to the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park. The park features geysers, rock formations, and a deep gorge that runs through the center of the park. You’ll go on a game drive and have a good chance of seeing giraffes, zebras, ostriches, baboons, and gazelles. On a boat cruise on nearby Lake Oloiden, you’ll likely see hippos and a variety of birds, including the fish eagle. At the end of the day, you’ll return to your tented camp.

Day 5 – Visit Maji Moto and meet the Maasai

Today, you’ll not only get to know the Maasai, but also spend a day experiencing their life. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll drive directly through the vast Maasai land until you reach your camp. It’s very simple, but has been lovingly set up by our local partner in collaboration with the Maasai. After lunch, you’ll learn more about the extraordinary Maasai culture on a walk. They’ll happily share stories of their ancestors’ hunting and take you to unknown locations where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the vast savannah. In the evening, you’ll eat around the campfire, while the Maasai perform their dances and proudly tell even more stories.

Day 6 – Living with the Maasai

The birdsong in the morning signals that it’s time to get up. The cook is already busy preparing breakfast, and you can enjoy the fresh air and tranquility of nature with a cup of coffee by the smoldering campfire. During the morning, you’ll go deeper into the bush with the Maasai and visit their village. Today, the Maasai will even show you how to hunt and the best way to throw a spear. The curious village children will sing their Maasai songs and take you to their school. In the evening, you’ll return to your camp, and another day full of new, indescribable impressions will pass by.

Day 7 – Off to the Masai Mara

After breakfast, you’ll travel to the unique Masai Mara. This is one of Africa’s most famous game parks and borders the Serengeti in Tanzania. Your guide will drive you across vast plains and through forested areas, telling you all about the animals in the Masai Mara. You’ll drive along rivers teeming with crocodiles and hippos, past herds of zebras and wildebeest, and with a bit of luck, you’ll even spot cheetahs and leopards. The chances of seeing lions and elephants are particularly high in the Masai Mara. As the sun sets, you’ll reach your camp, where a delicious meal awaits you. You’ll stay in a comfortable tented camp on the edge of the park.

Day 8 – Game drives in the Masai Mara

In consultation with your guide, you will travel to the Masai Mara gate before or after breakfast to embark on another safari. As you drive through the national park, the sun slowly rises and the endless savannah is bathed in a breathtaking orange glow. When the temperatures cool down a bit in the afternoon, you will once again set out in search of wildlife. At nightfall, you will return to camp. There is something truly special about spending the night in the midst of nature.

Day 9 – Back to Nairobi

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll enjoy one last safari in the Masai Mara and then return to Nairobi, where you’ll spend the night. The next day, you’ll continue your vacation with a domestic flight to the coast.

Days 10 – 13 – White sandy beaches and palm trees in Diani Beach

You’ll say goodbye to your guide at the airport. We’ll arrange your flight from Nairobi to Mombasa, from where you’ll reach Diani Beach in approximately one hour. The town is located on a stunning stretch of coastline with white beaches, swaying palm trees, and turquoise waters. You’ll stay at a beach resort right on the white sand. The bungalow rooms are spacious and feature air conditioning and a private balcony or terrace. Relax in the shade of the palm trees and enjoy the view of the Indian Ocean. You can take a day trip on a traditional dhow or discover the fascinating underwater world while snorkeling and diving.

Day 14 – Time to head home

From Diani Beach, you’ll take the palm-lined coastal path to Mombasa. After crossing on a small ferry, you’ll drive through the city center to the airport, where your two-week Kenya tour concludes with your flight home. If you’d like to stay a little longer, we’d be happy to arrange this for you. You can also take a look at our tour through Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks.
