Day 1 – Welcome to Eswatini
Today you will be greeted by the rolling hills of Eswatini, arriving at Mkhaya Game Reserve in the afternoon. You leave your car behind and head into the bush with an experienced guide. With a bit of luck you might already spot elephants, giraffes or rhinos on your first game drive, while your guide shares stories about the area and how to track wildlife. The drive ends at your camp, set in a dry riverbed right in the heart of the reserve.
You’ll stay in a thatched hut with no electricity or windows, so you’re properly immersed in the wild, with all the sounds of the bush around you. Don’t worry though, the camp is safely fenced so you can relax. Your first evening is all about the atmosphere, with a traditional bush dinner by the campfire before oil lamps guide you back to your hut under the stars.
Day 2 – Exploring the African bush
As the sun rises, the sounds of the bush gently wake you, just in time for a safari. After a cup of coffee and a light snack, you set off with your guide as the wilderness comes to life, with birds calling, elephants gathering at waterholes and impalas moving through the grass. Back at camp, a hearty breakfast awaits before a special midday adventure: a walking safari. Your guide leads the way explaining the local flora and fauna and the art of tracking, all while keeping a safe distance from the animals.
During the heat of the day, the wildlife retreats to the shade, giving you a chance to relax. Later, as the sun begins to sink, you put your new tracking skills into practice on a final safari stroll. The day concludes perfectly with a cosy dinner around the campfire under the starry African sky.

Day 3 – Departure from Eswatini
Your final day in Eswatini starts with one last game drive before breakfast, after which you head back to pick up your car. From there, your journey continues to Pongola or St. Lucia. Crossing back into South Africa, the landscape gradually flattens and dries out, giving way to the wetlands of St. Lucia, where a fresh nature adventure awaits.
