Belize’s largest city is raw and rough in places, but also kind of fascinating and attractive in parts. It might not top your holiday bucket-list, but if you’re flying in and need to rest up for the night then it’s an interesting little snapshot of real life in Belize. You spend the night in a grand old colonial hotel near to the waterfront, before continuing your travels.
Day 1 - Arrival in Belize City
If you’re flying into the main international airport then you’ll take a taxi to your hotel – a glamorous looking old colonial building close to the sea and the city’s seafront area. You can grab a bite to eat nearby before settling down for the night to recharge your batteries.
Day 2 - Continue your journey
If you have time this morning then we’d recommend popping down to see the old fish market, visiting the city’s museum in the former prison, and seeing the impressive cathedral. Afterwards you’ll start your journey through Belize!
