Leave civilisation behind to dive into the fascinating world of Sumatran wilderness at one of the National Parks protected by UNESCO. Day 1 - Journey to Tangkahan
Today you will begin your journey into the jungle. Your driver will be waiting for you in a jeep, ready to whisk you further into the wild heart of Sumatra. In about 4-5 hours you will reach Tangkahan, a small village on the edge of the Gunung Leuser National Park, your home for the next few days. Here you’ll stay in a rustic jungle lodge by the river. The accommodation is very basic, but the experience of being in the middle of the jungle is truly incredible!
Day 2 - Tubing, Picnic and Free Time
This morning you will wake up to the symphony of the jungle, and, after breakfast, hop on your tubes to float down the river up until you reach a sparkling waterfall. The current is quite slow making it an easy ride, but your guide will be by your side. After a small picnic, it’s time to walk back to your lodge, passing through the palm plantations. The rest of your day is free and you can decide whether to laze around in the sun, have another dip in the river or explore the rainforest for a chance of spotting wild orangutans that can be seen in the jungle of North Sumatra!
Day 3 - Departure From the Rainforest
Today your adventure in the jungle comes to an end. Your driver will be waiting for you to take you to the next exciting destination!
