Day 1 – Arrival in Hue

A UNESCO World Heritage city with a rich and historic past, Hue is renowned for its ancient tombs and pagodas, sprawling citadel, and gastronomic delights – making it a superb place to visit for families who enjoy history and good food! Your accommodation will be centrally located and just a short stroll from the banks of the Perfume River, with magnificent views over the city from the rooftop swimming pool. Your day of arrival will be entirely yours at leisure.

Day 2 – Day out on the farm

The next day, you’ll grab your bikes and cycle out to Thanh Toan village, just a few kilometres away. You’ll be greeted by your host family and after a warm welcome, it’ll be time to get your hands dirty! Depending on the season, you may be helping with the harvest, ploughing the fields, or helping to catch fish – all using traditional farming techniques. Whatever you take part in, the day is guaranteed to be filled with broad smiles and laughter!

You can lend a hand with the cooking of a home made meal for lunch and afterwards, have the opportunity to visit the markets or have a go at making local handicraft such as conical hat weaving or pottery. The entire day is designed for you and your family to receive a truly authentic and unique insight into rural life that cannot be replicated.

Sadly, the time would then eventually come for you to wave goodbye to your new found friends and cycle back to Hue. You’ll still have a few hours back in the city to explore before sundown.

Day 3 – Departure from Hue

After breakfast, it’s time to head on to your next destination – either by rail, air, or road.  We recommend taking a private transfer along the Hai Van Mountain Pass, a world famous scenic coastal road which leads to the ancient town of Hoi An. Wherever you may be travelling to, we’ll be sure to arrange all of your transfers and domestic travel in advance.

If you feel like you would like more time to discover all that Hue has to offer you can easily add an extra night or two – simply speak to your travel specialist.
