Day 1 – Arrival in Winnipeg
Today you arrive in Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba, with time to explore independently. Often called the Gateway to Western Canada, the city offers a lively mix of history, culture and green spaces. You’ll stay overnight in a centrally located hotel, and in the evening you’ll meet your guide and fellow travellers for a short introduction to the journey ahead.
Start your day at The Forks National Historic Site, where the Red and Assiniboine Rivers meet. Browse the stalls and galleries at Forks Market or enjoy a relaxed meal before visiting the striking Canadian Museum of Human Rights, whose bold architecture is a highlight in itself and whose exhibitions offer powerful insights into human rights around the world. Later, head to the Exchange District, a characterful area of historic brick buildings and a vibrant dining scene, and a great place to end the day.
Day 2 – Flight to the polar bear capital of Churchill
You start the day with an early breakfast before flying around 2.5 hours to Churchill, widely known as the polar bear capital of Canada. On arrival, your guide takes you straight on a city tour, including a visit to the Polar Bear Holding Facility. Churchill is home to some excellent restaurants, and after lunch you’ll head to Polar Bear International House to learn more about polar bear habitats, behaviour and the important conservation work being carried out here.
Later, check in to your centrally located hotel, where a well-earned dinner awaits. In this northern setting, conditions are often favourable for spotting the Northern Lights. Your smartphone camera can sometimes capture the dancing colours in the sky even before they are visible to the naked eye.

Day 3 – Off to see the polar bears in a tundra buggy
After breakfast, the adventure really kicks off. You’ll make your way to the tundra buggy dock and set out along rugged tracks into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in search of the polar bear, the undisputed king of the Arctic. Your guide will share fascinating insights about the bears, the subarctic wildlife, and even the geology and history of the area. Polar bears are often lively, play-fighting and roaming the tundra, giving you brilliant opportunities for photos. Even on quieter days, simply seeing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is a memory that stays with you.
Lunch is served right on the tundra buggy, as stepping out would be far too risky. The buggies can carry up to 40 people, but you’ll enjoy a more intimate experience with no more than 22 guests. Back in Churchill, dinner is a relaxed affair, perfect for sharing photos, swapping stories, and reflecting on an unforgettable day on the tundra.
Day 4 – Back in the tundra buggy
You have the option to extend your stay with a dog sled excursion, a unique way to explore the snowy landscape while learning more about the indigenous cultures of the North and their deep connection to the Arctic environment. It’s an unforgettable experience that adds another layer of adventure to your time in Churchill.
For those on the standard itinerary, another exciting day awaits with the polar bears on the tundra. After a morning of wildlife watching and memorable encounters, you’ll fly back to Winnipeg and settle once again into your familiar hotel. By now, your camera will be full of incredible polar bear photos, and your memories of the Arctic will be vivid and lasting.

Day 5 – Farewell to Manitoba
Today your Manitoba adventure comes to a close as you check out of your Winnipeg hotel. Depending on the timing of your onward flight, there may still be a little time to enjoy a final stroll through the city, soaking up its charm before you depart.
