During this bite-sized trip you’ll get the chance to see some of Borneo’s incredible wildlife up close! Watch turtles lay their eggs on the beach of Selingan Island, visit the world famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and then hop aboard a boat for a jungle river safari along the Kinabatangan River. Kota Kinabalu is the starting point for travellers visiting Sabah. Whilst here, you and your family will explore the nearby Kinabalu National Park. You’ll view the jungle from an elevated canopy walk, stroll through the butterfly garden and take a dip in the hot water springs.

Head deep into the wilderness with your family and travel into the heart of the jungle where you’ll be staying in a wooden bungalow. Whilst here, you’ll be heading out on jungle walks trying to spot all kinds of wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled and keep your camera at the ready.

Kuching is the perfect place to spend a day or two when starting your Sarawak family adventure. This compact, welcoming city is a mix of old and new, a melting pot of cultures and cuisines. You’ll explore by bike and boat. Fun fact – it’s also known as ‘Cat City’!

Sleep in an eco-treehouse on the Damai Peninsula, where the jungle meets the coast. We’ll include a wildlife spotting river cruise through the mangroves, as fireflies light up the riverbanks at dusk.

Time for some family R&R time on Damai Beach: golden sands backed by tropical rainforest, a short drive from Kuching. The only activity planned is a wildlife spotting river cruise. The rest of your stay is free to relax, swim or perhaps compete with each other on who can make the best sandcastles!

Only accessible by boat, Bako National Park is a land time forgot. Teaming with wildlife, including numerous species of monkey, yet within easy reach of Kuching, this trip is a great jungle experience for all the family.

The Batang Ai National Park is home to one of the oldest Iban settlements in Sarawak and this tribe have called this area home for years. Bring your tribe to meet their tribe for a taste of culture and to learn about a totally different way of life to yours.

Sweeping sandy beaches, calm waters and Mount Kinabalu as your backdrop all add up to some quality family beach time in Borneo. Less than an hour’s drive from Kota Kinabalu city, you can relax on the wide sandy beaches or take a dip in the refreshing pool.

This bite-sized trip is ideal if you’d like to spend a few days relaxing on the beach, and can be added at the beginning, middle or end of your trip. Since Gaya Island is so close to Kota Kinabalu it’s very accessible, and perfect if you don’t have time to travel to some of Borneo’s other beaches.
