Day 1 – Kalaw – Pa O village – trekking (about 6 hours – 20 km)
Today you’ll have an early start as you head out into the emerald hills amongst the Shan mountains. You’ll be collected by your guide from your hotel in Kalaw and start your trek through mountain villages meeting hill tribes from the Danu and Pa O communities along the way. After a fresh bowl of steaming noodles for lunch you’ll continue through forests and pass fields yielding tea, cauliflowers, rice and sesame seeds.
You’ll stay in a traditional lodge in a mountain village and learn about rural life. Although basic it has everything you need for a good night’s sleep, especially after your day of trekking! Your guide and cook will prepare a tasty dinner, using seasonal ingredients found in the area. You’ll probably want to get an early night for another exciting day of exploring tomorrow.
Day 2 – Pa O village – Inle Lake – trekking (about 4 hours – 16 km)
You’ll be up at dawn this morning to head onward on your journey through the rugged landscape. After a tasty breakfast you’ll trek through remote villages until you reach the jetty. After working up a hunger you’ll have a home-cooked lunch before jumping in a boat for a 90 minute ride to the shimmering Inle Lake where you can continue your adventure.
