Growing up on the stunning South Island of New Zealand way down in the South Pacific, I was always curious about the far flung destinations that seemed so very distant. Impatient to discover the wonders of the world, I packed my bags at 18 and headed off into the wild blue yonder. My obsession with Asia developed in Thailand in 2011. Since then, I’ve returned to somewhere new every year. I love the colour and chaos of the cities, the exotic flavours of the food, the extraordinary animals and of course lounging on beautiful beaches.
Talk to me about:
I travel for...
From a prowling tiger in India, to a coy leopard in Zambia, to relaxing with the rescue elephants at our sanctuary in Thailand, for me, there can be no more meaningful experience than seeing the incredible creatures of the world, wild and free. I love that animal welfare is such an important focus for Rickshaw and it’s wonderful to be able to share our ethical interactions with our customers!
I love trying to capture the spirit of a destination from behind the lens – be it ancient architecture, lovely locals, or amazing animals – it’s wonderful to be able to look at your pictures and be transported back to your adventures by an image.
It may be a cliché but when you travel, you really never know where the road will take you! It’s all part of the adventure to get lost down winding alleyways, discover a new favourite food such as the beautiful breakfast dosai in India, a cheeky monkey pinching your popcorn on safari, or being welcomed as part of the family at a cosy homestay.
