Why Meaningful Travel matters to me
I believe that travel builds bridges between people of completely different cultures, traditions and beliefs. It’s a cliche that travel broadens the mind, but it really does build for greater tolerance and understanding of people from all walks of life. It’s so important to make sure that you travel in a way which maximises the benefits to local communities and minimises any damage. I’m a firm believer that just because you can’t do everything, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do anything.
My most Meaningful Travel moment
I find it really hard to pick just one. I’ve had so many great experiences that I’ll remember forever! Being invited to a wedding in Delhi was truly eye-opening, eating rat with the hill tribes in Thailand, attending a Tsechu festival in Bhutan, sharing food with a Tibetan family on a train and even falling off my bike in Chile are all on the list. Whenever knowledge can be shared between two cultures, that’s what carries meaning for me.
My day job at Rickshaw
As well as working in Meaningful Innovation, I’m also the Product Team Manager.
