Web & Systems Ops Specialist
I moved abroad when I was 9 years old and spent the next 6 years living in Thailand, Bahrain and Togo. Living around the world gave me a great insight into the way other cultures exist. It was a great experience for a child to grow up abroad and looking back this has shaped the person I am. I like to get off the beaten track and seeing crowds of tourists really puts me off some places. I love living next to the sea so Brighton is perfect for me. Along with the melting pot of different people you get here.
Rickshaw destinations I’ve been to:
Thailand | Morocco | Malaysia | Indonesia | Singapore | Nicaragua
Next stop:
India – I really want to go!
I travel for...

People
I’m one for languages and always try and learn a few phrases when travelling to a new country. I think there’s nothing better than chatting to locals and learning about the country from people who live there. You’ll always end up at the best restaurants and bars, meeting their friends or having dinner with their family. I ended up at someone’s wedding once, dancing the night away with a bunch of strangers!

Wildlife
There’s nothing better than trekking through a National Park, spotting the local wildlife and seeing all the indigenous animals. I lived just outside Khao Yai National Park in Thailand and one of my fondest memories is hearing the gibbons in the morning, and seeing a red fire cobra eating a mongoose. Granted, there’s also nothing worse than trekking through the National Park and not seeing any animals. But there’s always the massive trees and insects!

Food
I love food. I can talk about food forever and get excited about sharing experiences with others. I once broke the ramadan fast with a family and the food was in abundance. I’ll try anything once which makes travelling around the world really exciting for me. From chicken feet to lambs brain, nothing will stop me! It all tastes like chicken anyway!
What else do I do at Rickshaw?
As well as my role as a full-time IT & Projects Co-ordinator, I’m also part of the Meaningful Travel team.
