Arrive Niagara Falls
Arrive at Buffalo airport and grab a taxi to your hotel on the American side of the falls. The town itself is very American with its watchtowers, haunted house and lots of other entertaining activities. Once you’ve strolled through the village and grabbed some American grub, be sure to take a look at the waterfalls at night when they are illuminated by lamps in all kinds of colours and fireworks soar overhead.
Niagara Falls Boat Tour
Get up early the next morning for a filling American-style breakfast, before heading to the visitor centre to board the Maid of the Mist. It’s an unmissable boat trip, which has been sailing since 1846. You’ll sail calmly towards the wall of water and the closer you get, the happier you are to be wearing your poncho and the roaring, thundering sound grows louder and louder. After the boat trip, walk across the Rainbow Bridge to the Canadian side of the falls, being careful not to forget your passport, for a visit to the Horseshoe Falls. If you have time to spare, visit Goat Island and the Three Sisters Islands, from which you can take the elevator down to Cave of the Winds with Hurricane Deck.
Back on the road
After one more look at the falls this morning, you will continue to your next destination. Stick to the East Coast and head to New York or Washington DC, or venture across the country to San Francisco and Los Angeles in the southwest.
