Arrival at Tusayan
Driving into the Colorado Plateau you’ll discover a wide, flat landscape that greatly differs from the mountain ranges of America’s other national parks. You’ll head towards the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, spending the night in the town of Tusayan, just outside the national park entrance. Whilst there’s not a great deal to see here, the hotel has a nice swimming pool and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby. For a romantic sunset, take a trip to Yavapai Point in the evening.
Visit the Grand Canyon
The following day you will step into one of the greatest natural wonders of the world! To make things easy for you, we suggest leaving your car at the hotel and using the free environmentally-friendly shuttle bus to get there. Hike from viewpoint to viewpoint along the Rim Trail, or if you’re up for a little adventure, scramble down into the canyon and take the Bright Angel Trail. Whichever you choose, make sure you bring plenty of water, something to eat, a sunhat and sunscreen, as it can get very hot!
