Arrival Cefalú
Arrive at a lesser visited stretch of Sicilian coastline, with its sandy, pebble beaches and hidden coves. The centre of the fishing village has a medieval atmosphere and because Cefalú is built against the mountain, you have great views over the terracotta roofs out to sea. In the afternoon, the centre is closed to traffic for a few hours, so you can roam the streets and acquaint yourself with your home for the next few days.

Fill the next few days however you please. Enjoy the sun, sea and calmness on one of the several beaches in the Cefalú area. Sant’Ambrogio is about 6kms form the centre and is the quietest. Or if you prefer to stay active, the other side of the city wall is a hiking trail, which follows the coast and runs from the old harbour to the lighthouse via several city gates and through the narrow streets, passing Norman cathedral and many other traditional buildings.

Departure Cefalú
After breakfast today, it is time to pack your things and move on. You can drive from here to Palermo airport in about an hour. Alternatively, if you are staying a little longer in Sicily then plunge back in time at the Temple Valley of Agrigento, or combine relaxing mud baths with lava spewing volcanoes during a few days of island hopping in the Aeolian Islands.

Cefalú – Mountain Ebike rental
About an hour’s drive from Cefalú is Petralia Sottana in the Madonie Mountains National Park. The town alone is worth the drive and your E-bikes will be waiting for you here. You will receive a number of routes and maps, which are also available as downloads. Cycle through the national park on mountain trails, through forests and along lakes. With a bit of luck you can see the Aeolian Islands in the distance from 1000 meters. The terrain is mountainous and some mountain biking experience is helpful. It is doable with e-bikes.
