Explore Old Goa, packed with candy-coloured houses and colonial spirit. A laid-back Portuguese pocket of India, it’s a great place for an atmospheric wander. Stay in classic townhouse or opt for a gorgeous mansion hidden in the rice paddies. With echoes of bygone Lisbon, you’ll be hooked in no time. There’s more to Goa than hippies, scooters and sunshine. Nowhere is this clearer than Panjim, the capital of the tiny province. A easygoing tangle of cobbled streets lined with colour-washed houses, it’s a got a character all of its own. If you’re heading south, it’s an unmissable spot.
