Mainland Greece

Mainland Greece

When thinking of mainland Greece, many people simply think of Athens, but there is so much more just waiting to be discovered! This region boasts a rich culture that is for the taking. Traditional temples from the time of Zeus, ancient monasteries and an oracle that predicted the future. Green pine trees dominate the landscape, with a few different beaches to cool off in.

Peloponnese

Peloponnese

The Peloponnese is the largest peninsula of Greece and a hidden gem. With its rugged mountains, golden sandy beaches and picturesque villages, all packed together with a vibrant culture. Go rafting down a mountain river, ouzo tasting in Nafplio and explore the laguna at Gialova on a rental boat.

Ionian Islands

Ionian Islands

The Ionian Islands are a little different to what you find elsewhere in Greece. Pastel-coloured houses with orange roofs, fishing boats bobbing on a crystal clear sea and a green interior. White pebble beaches are a feast for the eyes and the short ferry crossings are an adventure in themselves.

Cyclades

Cyclades

Many people will first think of Santorini when talking about the Cyclades. The famous white houses with blue roofs, sunsets that you have to experience from Oia and the black beaches make it obvious why. As well as this, discover the lesser known small-scale islands like Amorgos, or the long sandy beaches of Naxos. Go island hopping and combine these islands for the ultimate Greece feeling.

Crete

Crete

Crete is the largest island in Greece and also the southernmost. Where Crete is mostly known as a beach destination, it also offers so much more. Walk through the imposing Imbros or Samaria gorge and visit small fishing villages, such as Mochlos. Rent a car and explore the island at your own pace. There are certainly enough tavernas along the way to enjoy fresh squid and other traditional delights.
