Day 1 – Arrival in Havana
Arriving in Havana, you’ll settle into your comfortable casa particular near the historic centre of the city. Depending upon your arrival time, you may want to head out to explore and get a bite to eat. Havana is a buzzing mixture of live bands, jamming street artists and feverish salsa bars. Hang out at one of Hemingway’s old haunts with a daiquiri in hand.
*During very busy periods it is not always possible to book accommodation in the heart of old Havana, although we will do our best of course! If it is not possible, then you will stay at a lovely casa particular just outside of the Old Town.
Day 2 – City tour by classic car & on foot
After breakfast, you’ll have a quick welcome meeting before you begin your city tour. Along with a guide you’ll hop into a classic American car to cruise through city, heading along the Malecón and out to the leafy suburbs which used to be a playground for the rich and famous. It’s a real insight into the areas outside of the old centre, and you’ll learn some of the fascinating stories which Cuba’s capital has to tell.
After an hour or so, you’ll leave the car behind and wander with your guide through the cobbled alleyways of Havana Vieja, with its beautiful colonial buildings, shady plazas and rich history. The afternoon is free for you to grab a mojito next to the stunning Catedral de San Cristóbal, and in the evening you can seek out an underground salsa club and let loose with the locals!
Day 3 – Departure from Havana
After breakfast your Havana trip comes to an end, but there is plenty to do around the city so if you would like to extend your stay here by a day or two then let us know.
From Havana you can continue your adventure through Cuba where forests and beautiful beaches await.
