Hear the soft chants of pilgrims echo through the holy streets of Pushkar, explore the bazaars of the Blue City and stare out at Udaipur Lake Palace on your boat trip. It’s a tour filled with atmosphere and a fairy-tale tint. You’ll spend four nights travelling across this legendary state, meeting the locals, admiring huge forts and feeling lost in the romance of it all.

Day 1 – Arrival in Pushkar

Today, you’ll leave Jaipur and head for Pushkar, built around a beautiful holy lake. On the Ghats leading down to the water, you’ll see pilgrims bathing and singing softly. Pushkar is a picturesque holy town in the desert, with pastel-coloured buildings lining narrow streets. Wander through the twisting alleys of the old centre and soak up the sacred atmosphere.

Day 2 – Pushkar to Jodhpur

Today, you’ll set off for Jodhpur, also known as ‘The Blue City’ and home of the dramatic Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive Mughal forts in India. In Jodhpur, you can wander through the narrow alleyways of the city, where rope-makers colour their warps and spice-sellers display their aromatic wares.

Day 3 – Jodhpur to Udaipur

Today, you’ll travel to Udaipur, one of the most romantic cities in India, set around a mirror-like lake surrounded by green hills. On the way, you’ll stop to visit the striking Jain temple of Ranakpur, nestled in a beautiful green valley. The enormous temple complex has 1444 pillars with incredibly elaborate carvings.

Arriving in Udaipur, you’ll see the legendary Lake Palace that floats on an island in the centre of the glassy lake, lending the town a rich, fairy-tale feeling. You’ll spend two nights here, staying in a traditional haveli with a charming roof terrace looking out across Lake Pichola.

Day 4 – Udaipur city tour

This morning, you’ll explore the magical city of Udaipur, visiting the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple, with beautiful views over the Lake Palace. Next, you’ll go on a boat trip on Pichola Lake. Afterwards, you can wander through the old town, try your hand at haggling in the bazaars and snap up some samosas from a street food stall. In the evening, try some local dishes in a rooftop restaurant as the lake reflects the stars.

Day 5 – Departure from Udaipur
