Tucked away in the hills between Vietnam and Laos, it’s a beautiful region far from Cambodia’s beaten path. For three days, you’ll get lost in a world of waterfalls, forests, volcanic lakes and hill tribes.

Your day-by-day itinerary


First, you’ll travel into the remote hills of the Ratanakiri province, a region that is only just beginning to attract adventurous and responsible travellers. Arriving in Banlung, you can get settled in your cosy and inviting lodge. The people here are renowned for their gentle kindness and you’ll see why as soon as you set foot in the door.

On Day 2, you’ll set off with a local guide to visit some of the minority tribes that live in the small mountain villages surrounding Banlung. The Tampuan people are full of warmth and their culture is packed with fascinating rituals. Here, you’ll see the unique carved totem poles that they use to honour their dead. You can play football with the local kids and take a look inside the traditional houses.

Free time & departure

Day 3 is completely free for you to explore the jungle at your own pace. Lie back on the sunny shores of the crater lake with a good book, wander through the village or relax by the waterfalls. It’s completely up to you. On Day 4, you’ll pack your bags and say goodbye to Banlung after a real jungle adventure.
