Your day-by-day itinerary
Arriving in Puno, you’ll settle into your simple but comfortable hotel in the heart of the city right next to Plaza del Armas. This university town with a laid-back, optimistic vibe is a great place to explore. Packed with bars, restaurants, markets and street performers, it’s a nice place to spend an evening exploring.
Uros - Amantani - Taquile
This morning you’ll join your group for a relaxing boat ride across the still lake. Your first stop will be the floating reed island of Uros, where your guide will explain how the island was created and how life continues here. Next, you’ll set sail for Amantani – your homw for the night. Staying with a family, you’ll get a glimpse of local hospitality and enjoy a homecooked lunch and dinner. At sunset, you’ll walk to an Inca site with panoramic views across the lake.
You’ll sleep in a small clay hut with a straw mattress, and the next morning, as the sun comes up across Lake Titicaca, you’ll leave Amantari and drift onwards to another island called Taquile. After hiking up to the village square, you’ll see local men knitting woolly hats and women chatting in full traditional dress. After lunch, you’ll return to Puno, with the sun setting over the lake.
