Puno - Uros - Amantani
Arriving in Puno, you’ll settle into your simple but comfortable hotel. Just a short walk from Plaza del Armas, it’s located in the heart of the city. Puno is a university town with a laid-back, optimistic vibe, making it a great place to explore. Packed with bars, restaurants, markets and street performers, there’s plenty to keep you on your toes.
Your first stop today will be the floating reed island of Uros, where your guide will explain how the island is maintained. Next, you’ll set sail for Amantani, where you’ll meet your hosts for the night. Staying with a family you’ll get a glimpse of local hospitality. You’ll sleep in a small clay hut with a straw mattress and take a sunset walk to an Inca site with panoramic views across the lake.
Amantani - Taquile - Puno
Today you’ll leave as the sun comes up across Lake Titicaca and drift onwards to Taquile, another island in the lake. After hiking up to the village square, you’ll see local men knitting woolly hats and woman chatting in full traditional dress. After lunch, you’ll return to Puno, with the sun setting over the lake. The following morning, you’ll pack your bags and continue your Peru adventure.
