Arrival in Palm Springs
After your cactus-lined road trip, from the Grand Canyon or Las Vegas, with maybe a slight detour to the famous Route 66, you’ll arrive in the green oasis town of Palm Springs and settle into your modern hotel. Take a dip in the pool to cool off and then head off in search of a bite to eat, or simply make use of the facilities in your hotel and get an early night so you’re all ready to explore the next morning!

Exploring the Joshua Tree National Park
Set off early to beat the hot desert sun, making sure you pack all the essentials. There’s so much to see here, from the Cholla Cactus garden to the incredible looking ‘Skull Rock’ (you’ll see why!), as well as the beautifully named Wonderland of Rocks. After a day of exploring the main sights, it’s time to head back to your hotel and a well-earned cooling off in the pool.

Departing Palm Springs
Today it’s time to leave the heat of the desert behind you and continue a couple of hours west to the coast where you can either all try your hands at surfing in San Diego or head to see the glitz and glamour of LA to finish your American family adventure.
