Ah the ever so long summer holidays. Wouldn’t you love to be in a faraway country and have a holiday of your own? It’s a perfect time to treat the family and head on a summer adventure. With plenty of jungle walks, night safaris and wildlife spotting, we think this is a great time for those ‘once in a lifetime holidays’ as you can really take your time and enjoy yourselves. From Borneo to Costa Rica, we’ve put together special summer itineraries for each destination which you can have a peek at for some inspiration.
How special would it be to see your kids spending Christmas with a local family in South East Asia? Or spotting monkeys swinging through the treetops in Costa Rica? Booking early is key for the Christmas holidays to ensure you get the best flight deals and accommodation. A lot of places are very limited in this busy time, but we would say it’s one of the most exciting times of year to take away the family. Easter’s 2-week break proves a great time to travel to a lot of our destinations, as the weather is good and flights are not always as costly as the Summer or Christmas months. Let your kids experience colourful Easter festivities in Peru, visit a local school in a remote village in Bali, or spot elephants wading through the exotic jungles of Kerala, India.
Christmas is over, and let’s face it, the weather in January hasn’t exactly been great, so maybe it’s time for a quick getaway in the February half term to keep the families Vitamin D levels up. We have plenty of exciting places for you to have a quick break with the family. Soak up the sun while kayaking around some of Thailand’s most beautiful islands and beaches, take the kids on a safari through Yala National Park in Sri Lanka or have a go at rice farming with other local families in Hue, Vietnam.
Want to treat the kids (and yourselves!) to a week away somewhere exotic? These destinations are just a flight away to being immersed in a country full of excitement. Skip the crowds in Borneo and watch the kids’ faces light up when spotting orangutans swinging in the trees, learn to paint a traditional Batik fabric in Malaysia or see the children’s smiles zipping through trees in Cuba’s stunning eco-park, Las Terrazas.
October is usually one of those months when you have summer holiday blues, so what a perfect time to perk the kids up and zip them away on an adventure. There are a small handful of places that are good to go to in October, where the weather will still be good and you won’t have to share the beaches or local restaurants with too many other people.
