To celebrate achieving our Travelife accreditation, the Meaningful Travel Team headed off to Silo, Brighton’s first permanent zero-waste restaurant nestled away in the North Laines – just a short hop from our office!
95% less waste than regular restaurants
The idea of Silo is simple, serve only locally sourced ingredients in dishes that change daily, according to availability. Even the menu is sustainable – projected on the wall to eliminate unnecessary paper use.
What to choose?
Silo serves six mains each day, one fish option, one meat, one vegan and one ‘wild card’. It’s unashamedly ‘Brighton’ and fits in well within the bustling North Laine neighbourhood, surrounded by independent local businesses.
Keeping it local
As part of our Meaningful Travel policy we have pledged to be a responsible company, both at home and abroad, and this involves supporting small local businesses nearby to us. And hey – heading out for a delicious locally-sourced meal seems like a great idea to us!
Thanks Silo – we’ll be back!
