View of the eco-lodge and surrounding tea hills in Madulkelle, Sri Lanka

Day 1

Arrival in Madulkelle:

Today you will head into the heart of the Hill Country. Only an hour drive from bustling Kandy lies one of Sri Lanka’s secret treasures, the Knuckles Range. This is a place to recharge and reconnect with yourself and we have secured a very special place for you to unwind. Perched on a hillside and surrounded by rolling tea plantations this charming eco-lodge has everything you could think of and more, including a spa, an on-site restaurant with an ever-changing seasonal menu (based on the fresh ingredients grown right here in the garden), and an infinity pool with jaw-dropping mountain views.

Day 2

Community trip and free time:

You will wake up to the magnificent views of the mountains covered in morning mist and after breakfast it’s time to explore the village not far from your lodge. With an experienced guide, you will spend some time within the local community and enjoy traditional snacks and freshly brewed tea at a local home while learning about the way of life in Sri Lankan countryside.

There is nothing else planned for you today but there are plenty of other activities, from bird watching to hiking, that can be arranged through your lodge. After a long day why not pay a visit to the on-site SPA if you haven’t already?

Speak to our Sri Lanka specialist, David

“There’s nowhere like Sri Lanka. Having travelled all over the country, it wasn’t long before I fell completely in love with its beaches, tea hills, wild rainforest and national parks. Oh, and did I mention the spicy curries? They knocked my socks off!”
