Day 1 – Arrival in Tangalle
When you arrive at Tangalle, you’ll find your stilted wooden cabana nestled in a quiet grove of palm trees. From your comfy chair on the porch, you can sit back, put your feet up and look out over the sea. Although there is no air conditioning here, the breeze from the sea should keep you cool enough and there’s also a fan for those really warm days. But it’s the hammock that makes it complete. Simply relax with a good book and catch the light breeze as you gently swing to the sound of rustling palm trees and lapping waves.
Day 2 – Ayurvedic Massage & Free Time
You’ll wake up to a view of palm-fringed gardens and azure seas; a great way to start your morning! We’ll arrange a famous Ayurvedic massage for you during your stay. Feeling completely relaxed you can continue to take it easy and sample some of the freshly prepared local cuisine that the outdoor restaurant has to offer. On the menu you’ll find fresh fish and seafood, brought in every morning by the local fishermen.
Tangalle has a large fishing fleet which lands on the beaches here. It’s a beautiful sight to watch the fishermen head out to sea in their brightly painted boats. If the sea beckons you, there’s a small reef in the bays surrounding Tangalle which is ideal for a spot of snorkelling or diving! If you want to head out beyond the beach today, you could take a wander into the town where you can amble past the fishing harbour and pick up a bargain at the local market. Alternatively, you can rent bicycles at the resort and explore the sights on two wheels.
Day 3 – Departure from Tangalle
If you venture beyond the coast of Tangalle, you can find an extensive system of lagoons; the perfect place to explore the exotic world here, from tropical birds and turtles to monkeys and water monitor lizards.
After a few days of relaxation, it’s time to leave Tangalle and meet your driver as you head to your next destination.
