Hanoi to Bai Tu Long Bay
Arriving at Hon Gai harbour, you’ll hop on a traditional Chinese junk boat with huge, billowing sails. This will be your floating home for the night. A lunch of fresh grilled seafood will be served as you set sail, kicking off the trip in true local style. You’ll spend the afternoon sailing between towering jungle-topped islands and visiting a hidden sea cave filled with sparkling stalactites.
Continuing to Hon Co Island, you’ll come across a secluded stretch of soft sand where you can lie back in the sunshine, swim in the azure waters between the rock formations. At sunset, grab an ice-cold beer, watch the blazing sun sink into the sea and soak up the magic of the place. A simple but delicious dinner will be served on board before you retreat to your cosy, private cabin.
Bai Tu Long Bay to Hanoi
After an early start, you’ll sail towards the village of Vung Vieng in the heart of the bay, transferring to a rustic rowing boat. You’ll meet the village fishermen and learn about local tradition before heading back to the junk. After a leisurely brunch on board, you’ll journey back to Hanoi, stopping off at a local village along the way. The villagers will show you the art of water puppetry.
