kampung house huts in jungle

Day 1

Arrival in Kota Bharu

When you arrive in the Kampung, set along the banks of a peaceful river, you’ll meet your Dutch host, Harry. You’ll stay in wooden cottage, equipped with en-suite facilities and a veranda with scenic views. It’s the perfect compromise between a homestay and a guesthouse and the perfect way to experience real Malaysia!

Days 2-3

Batik Painting Workshop

Today the locals will show you around their village, showing you the tiny workshops where ‘keropok’ fish crackers and kites are made. Harry’s neighbour has created a whole batik factory in his shed, and he’ll give you a lesson, using colourful cloth and hot wax. This afternoon, you can cycle through the tropical countryside surrounding the Kampung before heading back for a dip in the pool.

The next day is the last day of your Kampung trip and after breakfast it’s time to say goodbye to your hosts as you continue travelling in Malaysia. If you like they can arrange a taxi to Kota Bharu airport or your next destination, but we can also book a pre-arranged transfer for you. Just let us know.
