Day 1 – Kuala Besut – Pulau Perhentian Besar

Today your Perhentian trip starts with a boat to Pulau Perhentian Besar from Kuala Besut. Stepping ashore you’ll be greeted by palm trees, white sands and a crystal clear turquoise sea. You can spend your time on Perhentian Besar as you wish, but why not take a quick hop over to explore the smaller island of Perhentian Kecil. The resort is perched right on the beach, with sea views and great seafood.

Days 2-3 – Perhentian Islands free time

Your time here is free to explore as you wish. This is a place to kick off your flip-flops, stretch out and listen to the sound of swaying palms. Take a trip into the island’s jungle, hire a canoe, set off on a sea-fishing mission or scuba dive into the deep. At the end of the day, kerosene lamps will begin twinkling all along the beach as the blazing sun sinks into the sea.

Day 4 – Departure from Perhentian Besar

After breakfast it’s time to bid farewell to Perhentian Besar and take the boat back to Kuala Besut. Like the rest of the east coast, the best time to visit the Perhentians is between March and October. This will make for a sunny, monsoon-free stay. Many of the islands close down completely during the rains, so an off-season adventure isn’t recommended.
