Arrival in Seraya
In the quiet coastal town of Seraya you’ll stay in a quirky Balinese bungalow with views over the rocky coastline. You’ll be treated to home-cooked meals throughout your stay, with mouth-watering scents wafting from the kitchen. The bungalows are owned by Hans and Els, from Holland who’ve lived in the area for years, and set up a local project which supports girls from the village by funding their education.
Tour of the area & departure
Today, you’ll be woken by the soothing sound of seabirds and lapping waves as the scent of fresh toast drifts from the kitchen. After breakfast you’ll take a guided tour of the area with a local guide, wandering through ginger, vanilla and clove plantations. Your guide can tell you everything they know about the local area and its friendly residents.
You’ll hike between green rice terraces and coffee plantations to an ancient Balinese temple where the local women burn small incense offerings every day. The view is breathtaking from here, looking out across Bali’s highest volcano with the brilliant blue sea and the faint outline of Lombok on the horizon.
The next day, you’ll get ready to say goodbye to this peaceful corner of Bali and pack your things before hitting the road.
