Day 2

Explore Kampot province

This morning you’ll set out with your local guide to learn all about the area surrounding Kampot town, from pre-Angkorian caves and small mountain wells, used for worship by local people to pepper plantations and sea salt fields – Kampot has lots of discover. Heading back towards town you’ll pass colonial buildings, fish markets and stop to sample some local Khmer coffee.

Around lunchtime, you’ll visit Teuk Chur rapids – a nice section of the river where the locals like to swim. Here you can stop off and have a bite to eat before you head back into Kampot town. On the way back, you’ll visit a durian plantation, rambutan fruit orchard and a handicraft village, passing through the lush landscape all along the way. Your evening is free to relax back in the town.

Speak to our Cambodia specialist, Miles

“Cambodia is full of history and beauty, from Angkor Wat to the Cardamom Mountains. You can easily explore in one week or combine with neighbouring Vietnam. I often suggest Cambodia for families as it’s easy to travel around.”
