Your day-by-day itinerary

Kota Kinabalu - Manukan Island

Day 1

Kota Kinabalu - Manukan Island

Today you will set off from the mainland to explore the Tunku Abdul National Park teeming with dense jungle and diverse wildlife. You will be collected from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and transferred to the pier to take the short boat ride over to Manukan Island, the second largest island in the National Park. On arrival you’ll make your way to the only accommodation on the island, a Balinese style resort overlooking the turquoise sea.

Day 2

Free time - Manukan Island

You’ll no doubt be woken by the sounds of the jungle behind the resort. There are no activities planned during your stay so you can spend your time here as you wish; snorkel or try diving in the clear water surrounded by colourful fish, take a walk along one of the many trails zig-zagging through the jungle or sit back with a good book and soak up the sunshine. This area is popular with day-trippers so it’s best to head out early in the morning to spot wildlife without the day visitors.  As the sun fades and the visitors head back to the mainland the island takes on a peaceful air.

Day 3

Manukan - Kota Kinabalu

Today your time on Manukan island comes to an end and you’ll make your way back to Kota Kinabalu. Depending on what time your boat leaves you can take a final dip amongst the coral and spot the tropical fish flitting by. When you arrive back on the mainland you will make your own way to your hotel or to the airport to continue your adventure through Borneo.
