Day 1

Arrival in Pokhara

As you approach Pokhara, you’ll see the Annapurna Mountains appear on the horizon, including the most striking landmark, Machapucchre, and Fishtail Mountain. You’ll stay in a comfortable hotel near the centre, within walking distance of Phewa Lake. Here, you’ll find everything from small bistros to colourful restaurants, serving local cuisine and some of the best Western food in Nepal.

Days 2-3

Free Time & Departure

Today is free for you to explore Pokhara at your own pace. Take a walk down the main street, lined with a colourful jumble of shops and stalls selling everything from prayer flags to trekking gear. Here, you can stock-up on items that you may need for your trek. If you’re not a trekker, Pokhara has plenty to keep you busy. You’ll find waterfalls, caves and Tibetan villages scattered across the nearby hills. Fancy more of a thrill? Try paragliding from the Sarangkot viewpoint, with glorious views over the Himalayan peaks and shimmering lake.

The next day you’ll pack up your things and leave Pokhara, ready for your next adventure.

Speak to our Nepal specialist, Kate

“My memories of Nepal will stay with me forever; from making tasty momos with Tibetan refugees, to attending 5am prayers in a monastery. I haven’t tackled Everest (yet!), but it’s a favourite with my customers so I could be persuaded!"”
