Arrival in Hiroshima
Today you’ll arrive and make your way to your hotel near the centre. Hiroshima is easily explored on foot, and also has a great tram system, so you should have no problems finding something to do for the evening. The city boasts some great restaurants and vibrant nightlife, so grab a bowl of ramen, enjoy a drink or two, and maybe embarrass yourself in a karaoke bar?
Miyajima Island & City Tour
You’ll meet your guide this morning and set off by public transport to catch the ferry to the attractive Miyajima Island, where you’ll spend the next couple of hours exploring the sights and fending off the confident local deer! After lunch, you’ll head back to the city for a visit to the Museum and the Peace Memorial Park. It’s a tranquil, reflective place, which acts as a symbol of Hiroshima’s past and future.
After another evening taking in the buzz of Hiroshima’s restaurants and bars, and a good night’s sleep, you’ll head back the station ready to continue to your next Japanese destination. If there’s time before you depart we recommend taking a stroll around Shukkeien Garden, originally built in 1620 by Ueda Soko.
