Day 1 – Arrival in Barli & ox cart tour
It’ll take around 2.5 hours to get here from Pushkar, and you’ll spot the majestic Fort Barli from quite a distance away. One of the first things you’ll notice is the tranquility that prevails here, and the lack of noisy tuktuks, which makes a refreshing change.
In the afternoon, you’ll take an ox cart ride through the village. It’s a wonderful chance to take in the rural charm of the village, as you pass locals, visit a temple and even stop by a local family’s home.
Day 2 – Departure from Barli
After a good night’s sleep, and breakfast, you’ll be shown round the fortress by the current owners. They’ll show you the magnificent murals in the women’s wing and some of the grand rooms. As you’re shown round, they’ll share family stories and anecdotes with you. Then, you’ll have time to take a wander around independently, and take in the views from the Fort before heading off. From here you can reach Jodhpur in 3.5 hours and Udaipur in 5.
