Day 1

Arrival in Essaouira

Essaouira is easy to get to by bus or hire car and the drive from Marrakesh or Agadir only takes around 3 ½ hours. You’ll stay in a boutique riad, located in the medina within walking distance of the beach. Once you’ve freshened up you’ll have the rest of the day to explore this authentic little coastal town at your own pace. The street scene here is an eclectic mix of locals buying their groceries in the souks, and foreign visitors trying out their haggling skills.

Fishing boats in Essaouira in Morocco

When you’re all shopped out, head to the small harbour filled with little blue boats and fresh fish market. You can pick your own fish, have it cooked fresh and enjoy it looking out over the sea. The old kasbah opposite the harbour has a fantastic view of the rocky coastline and it’s a good place to catch the beautiful sunset.

Day 2

After breakfast on your roof terrace, you will head out on a yacht from the small harbour in Essaouira. This coastal town is renowned for it’s windy weather so sailing here is a dream, once the sails are up you can stretch out on the deck and take in the view. Pastries and fresh mint tea will be served on board. Around lunch time you will return to dry land and the rest of the day is yours to spend as you wish.
