After backpacking South East Asia for four months, Vietnam was easily my favourite. The vibrant culture, breathtaking scenery and incredible food won me over straight away. From the bustling streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to the serene rice fiels of Ninh Binh, every place had its own charm. While there, I got a taste of adrenaline as I tacked the famous Ha Giang Loop and plunged into waterfalls on a canyoning adventure in Dalat. Vietnam really has it all – an incredible mix of culture, history and adventure making it an unforgettable destination.

I travel for...

New experiences
The thrill of what awaits me that day, putting myself out there and stepping out of my comfort zone to make long-lasting memories that I get to look back on in the future. I travel to experience new cultures and ways of living, to step out of the norm and fully delve into the beauty of the unknown.
Food
What better way to experience a culture than through your taste buds! I’m not one for spicy foods or coriander but I’m always willing to try new things, I especially love taking on a local cooking class to let my inner chef come out.

Meeting the locals
Since I backpacked for most of my travels, I was fortunate to stay with a lot of locals through homestays and recommendations. A huge part of going to a new country is to see how the locals live and how different it is to back home. I was always welcomed with smiles and open arms and the locals always created the best environment to be around.
